FUN FACTS About the Bible, Part 1
It didn't rain in the Garden of Eden, or out of it for that matter. Water came up from the ground to make things grow.
Genesis 2 (KJV)
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
The new earth won't have oceans.
Revelation 21 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
The term "scapegoat" comes from the use of a goat that was to receive the sins of the people and be released into the wilderness.
Leviticus 16 (KJV)
9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the Lord's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
