14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him.
15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.

1 Corinthians 6 (KJV)
13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 7 (KJV)
9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

1 Corinthians 9 (KJV)
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

1 Corinthians 10 (KJV)
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 Corinthians 15 (KJV)
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Psalm 18 (KJV)
21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
22 For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
23 I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

Psalm 19 (KJV)
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Psalm 1 (KJV)
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Galatians 6 (KJV)
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

Romans 12 (KJV)
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 6 (KJV)
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

1 Peter 3  (KJV)
15 But sanctify (make yourself holy) the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness (humbleness) and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

For those of us who are accused of acting holier than thou, this scripture should be a comfort to read. Can relate to it  ~ Karmen

2 Peter 1 (KJV)
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue (goodness, integrity); and to virtue (goodness, integrity) knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance (self-control); and to temperance (self-control) patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity (love).
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Psalm 51 (KJV)

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Galatians 5 (KJV)
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty (self-government); only use not liberty (self-government)  for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Christians, we are to serve the spirit, not the flesh.  Liberty = Self Control ~ Karmen

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience, high tolerance), gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5 (KJV)
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Ephesians 6 (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 4 (KJV)
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying (providing moral or intellectual instruction.), that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Colossians 3 (KJV)
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy (cursing God, cursing the Holy Spirit), filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing (warn or reprimand someone firmly.) one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Psalm 106 (KJV)
3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Psalm 34 (KJV)
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

James 1 (KJV)
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

James 3 (KJV)
1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation (judgment).
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm(wheel, steer), whithersoever the governor listeth.

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire
kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity (wickedness): so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude (likeness) of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated ( to make an earnest request or petition), full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality (favoritism), and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Hebrews 12 (KJV)
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Titus 1 (KJV)
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate (self control);

Titus 2 (KJV)
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste (innocent), keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed (speak irreverently about God or sacred things.).
6 Young men likewise exhort (strongly encourage or urge (someone) to do something.) to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity
(seriousness), sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned (damned); that he that is of the contrary (stubborn) part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort (strongly encourage or urge (someone) to do something.) servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining (defrauding), but shewing all good fidelity (loyalty); that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Titus 3 (KJV)

2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions (heated disagreements), and strivings (struggles) about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain (pointless).

1 Timothy 2 (KJV)

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness (extremely modest or shy; bashful.) and sobriety (self-control,dignity); not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Women going out of their way wearing hairstyles to lure men to lust after them....also, flashy clothes and jewelry to entice ~ Karmen

2 Timothy 1 (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 2 (KJV)
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge (purifies) himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified (holy), and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

1 Thessalonians 4 (KJV)
3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification (the act or process of acquiring sanctity, of being made or becoming holy.), that ye should abstain (refrain) from fornication (sex):

4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
5 Not in the lust of concupiscence (strong sexual desire; lust.), even as the Gentiles which know not God:
6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

1 Thessalonians 5 (KJV)
17 Pray without ceasing (stopping).

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

19 Quench (quiet) not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings (spiritual discerning).
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain (refrain) from all appearance of evil.

Daniel 1 (KJV)
8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
