Deuteronomy 18 (KJV)

9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations (curse) of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination (fortune teller), or an observer (interpreter) of times, or an enchanter (magician), or a witch.
11 Or a charmer (sweet talker), or a consulter (opinion giver) with familiar ( a worldy) spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer (genie, exorcist, satanist).
12 For all that do these things are an abomination (curse) unto the Lord: and because of these abominations  (curses) the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13 Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners (the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of an occultic, standardized process or ritual.): but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken (listen attentively) unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

2 Kings 23 (KJV)

3 And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

24 Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord.
25 And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
