What does the Bible say about: WHAT MEATS TO EAT / Also, NOT EATING MEAT - VEGETARIAN



BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING, ONE THING I NEED TO BE GRATEFUL FOR MORE THAN ANYTHING IS THE GIFT OF BEING A THINKER....ALSO, FOR GOD GIVING ME GRACE AND THE CHANCE TO CHANGE MY MIND AGAIN AND AGAIN SO HE CAN FIND FAVOR IN ME AND I CAN LIVE THE LIFE I AM SUPPOSE TO LIVE

Came across this scripture in the Bible. Tell me what you think...Have been a veg and something in me told me to revisit Leviticus (been familiar with it before)on what foods to eat and not to eat...My mom raised my siblings and I that way...Anyhow in revisiting the book, I also came upon this in the Bible -

1 Timothy 4
1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

If we look at what is going on with people today in the public's eyes (In particular, celebrities) they practice verse 3...Basically for me I abstained from meat to focus more on vegetables and to keep my figure intact....Which I really was doing well on....Did not become a vegetarian out of fad or for the love of animals....When I first became one I did feel much better and looked much better (glow)....still though I lack iron and b6 regardless if I am a meat eater or not....and once I stopped eating meat, I became more anemic. So my doctor asked me to add meat back into my diet...that was in 07....now this year I embraced veg again..and when I came across the 1Tim 4:3, I was blown back....So am adjusting my eating...Meat is needed in the diet....too much of anything is not good (debauchery)...So much to speak on this...any how thought I would share this scripture with those who are reading. Could go on eating veg and fruit for one week only..and then the next week focus on fish....and then the next red meat....


Leviticus 11
 1And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
 2Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
 3Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
 4Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
 5And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
 6And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
 7And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
 8Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
 9These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
 10And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
 11They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
 12Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
 13And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
 14And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
 15Every raven after his kind;
 16And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
 17And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
 18And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
 19And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
 20All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
 21Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
 22Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.
 23But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
 24And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.
 25And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
 26The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
 27And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
 28And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.
 29These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,
 30And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.
 31These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
 32And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.
 33And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.
 34Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
 35And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you.
 36Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.
 37And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.
 38But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
 39And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.
 40And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
 41And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
 42Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
 43Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
 44For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
 45For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
 46This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
 47To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

Sarcasm, what it means really. Also, what the Bible says about it.

Sarcasm is the use of sharp, cutting remarks or language intended to mock, wound, or subject to contempt or ridicule.

When I look at it using a thesaurus this is what I get:

acrimony, aspersion, banter, bitterness, burlesque, censure, comeback, contempt, criticism, cut*, cynicism, derision, dig*, disparagement, invective, irony, mockery, put-down*, raillery, rancor, ridicule, satire, scorn, sneering, wisecrack, causticness, corrosiveness, flouting, lampooning, mordancy, scoffing, sharpness, superciliousness

2 The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

James 3
9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness.

MOCKERY

Galatians 6
7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 
8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Didn't know this, but it comes from the ancient Greek σαρκάζω (sarkazo) meaning 'to tear flesh' but the ancient Greek word for the rhetorical concept of taunting was instead χλευασμός (chleyasmόs). Sarcasm appears several times in the Old Testament


Hey many times I have used this word myself. Thinking it would clean up a comment that was not received so well. Although I and many may proclaim it was just used in a form of wit, I beg to differ.


If you look at the meaning of Sarcasm, we do use it for what we meant. Have no problem admitting that I myself was thinking just as it was defined.


Don't like that about myself. This past week Michael Jackson died. Was appalled at the remarks and comments that was made about his life. Some by people that I know practice Christianity. Comments like "people die everyday, what's the big deal", "i was just being sarcastic about the comments I made about Michael Jackson, can't you take a joke." Basically, "what is all the hoopla about?"


Of course I ran to defend him. Not as him being an entertainer, but a human being. Who would want those kind of remarks made about them after they pass. Or about their loved ones. It was cruel and insensitive.


Sarcasm will always be used, but please reconsider using it. What are your intentions? We are suppose to build each other up. Doesn't mean we can't joke with each other...just what are your intentions?



Imitating Christ's Humility

Philippians 2

1If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 
2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 
3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 
4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Remember Cain's response "Am I my brother's keeper?" Genesis 4

So what should we practice? civility, courtesy, diplomacy, flattery, kindness, politeness, sweetness, commendation, praise


PRAISE AND KINDNESS


Galatians 5
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 
24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 
26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Rules for Holy Living

Colossians 3
8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 
9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 
10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

Why so many languages on Earth?

Genesis 11

 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Will Man Destroy the Earth


E - Earth, God will not let us destroy it Isaiah 11:9

Isaiah 11
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.



Not many places left :/ Animals are running out of room to live.  Our natural resources are being depleted.   God will be back very soon!  Remember God won't let man destroy this earth!

Integrity

Matthew 5
37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.


Let your yes be yes and no be no.  If for any reason you can't keep your commitment, the best thing to do is to contact the person in concern and let them know that you have to decline due to unforeseen circumstances . It is okay to reschedule.

Have found that saying "let me see what I can do" or "let me get back to you on that" is just like saying yes.  So just say no or yes without any explanation.  When you explain this can possibly lead to them to finding out ways for you to change your mind.

Psalm 139 (KJV)

1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.



4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

God's Signature is on You
Like VanGough or Gaughin or Rembrandt has their signatures on their priceless paintings, so does God with every human being (including you) he made. Imagine- there is an signature somewhere on your body (naked to the human eye) with God's name on it. It says "Made by God in Heaven".

All of your offspring are already in the book before they are born, just like you were before you were born.


17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.


23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Apocalypse Revelations - Reveal

Apocalyptic thinnking is about how there is an universal invisible network led by an arch criminal mastermind.
Apocalypse (Greek: Ἀποκάλυψις -translit. apoca'lipsis, literally: the lifting of the veil), is a term applied to the disclosure to certain privileged persons of something hidden from the majority of humankind.
