Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Mortify (humiliate) therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate (unreasonable) affection, evil concupiscence (lust), and covetousness (feeling or showing a very strong desire for something that you do not have and especially for something that belongs to someone else), which is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Forbearing (patient and restrained) one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Humbling! Am a work in progress. Instantly challenged on. It's hard to live with someone who is not living for God. He does his best. He is a kind and generous person. My patience and gentleness is tried each day and I am being challenged non-stop. While I am still here in this house, I see my purpose.
Sometimes God will put people in our lives to teach us how to be gentle, peaceful and patient. Those are the gifts my friend, whom I live with has. Maybe that is why I am still here. Not to get 100%, but to get a passing grade. A grade that God has set up for me to get. ~ Karmen
